Having eaten at the delightful Russells teashop for more than ten years (a reccommended break on the journey north), we have been disappointed to find that the tried and tested formula that gave this establishment huge success over that period has disappeared overnight under the new management. We cannot speak highly enough of the previois owner's homely atmosphere, attention to detail, standards of welcome and cuisine. Stepping into Russells today we felt all this had gone under the new management. The menu was limited and predictable. The welcome muted and general ambience lost. Here was a gem established over many years now 'dumbed down' to cater for a mass market, rather than it's core clientele who held the previous high standards as a priority in their choice of teashop.
