Very disappointed and glad we were only staying one night. It may have been that they had a private party in for a 21st that made all the difference but then they could have warned us a bout this. The room was clean but we only had one bath and one hand towel between us. Our room was on the ground floor near the entrance and we were kept awake into the wee small hours by the music from the party despite double glazing. Having arrived tired and hungry at about 7.30 we first had to wait outside for the door to be answered. Then we found that the restaraunt doesn't seem to open on weekends meaning that all that was available (and note closing time of 8 not 9)were bar snacks. This was despite me phoning that very morning to ask if we needed to book a table for the resrtaraunt and being told 'no just come along and we'll find you a table'. I suppose I should have stressed we wanted one in the retaraunt! Tis might have been OK but then came the second problem. All the public rooms, restaurant bar etc were closed to residents except those attending the private function. This left us with some chairs in a smoky alcove and by the time we managed to find someone to order from the 8 o'clock deadline had passed. Service was at the hotels desire when they happened to pass through where we were sitting! Breakfast was also iffy with no-one coming to ask us if we wanted tea coffee etc. All the onus was on the guests to ask for things including plates for the buffet and more eggs etc. Altogether a very diappointing experience!
