This small restaurant was clean, fresh and delightful with its conservatory and outdoor dining area. We were treated admirably and absolutely loved the food, which likewise was fresh, delicious and a welcome departure from the ordinary. The chef is to be congratulated for his work. We would go to The Lemon Tree again and again if we lived in the area.

I have visited twice so far this year for dinner and on both occasions have been impressed with the service, food and value. Staff were welcoming and attentive to the simple things which all too often can be overlooked. Cosy warm atmosphere - even in conservatory on very cold night. Tap water replenished without asking, drinks brought rapidly to table, excellent coffee. Food freshly prepared, adequate portions, good selection of vegetables, well presented. One of the few gems in a sea of mediocrity which alas, Salisbury has to offer.

Extremely disappointing. Service was absolutely terrible. When we arrived we were pointed to the table - awful position under the stairs to the loos!! We were not offered a drink while we looked at the menu - we had to ask! The special board kept being removed whilst we were looking at it - it needed to be taken to other tables that were obviously being looked after by a waityress! I don't know who are waitress/waitor was - no one bothered toa sk how our food was and if we needed anthing. We had to ask for everything. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant at all - the people in the extension bit looked to be having a good time - could of been in a different restaruant! There was a very loud genetleman sitting beside us who shouted about himself and his job all evening - that drove my husband and son up the wall. The food was not great - menu did not have everything available that we had seen when looking it up on the web. All in all an expensive evening that was a great disappointment - and even more so as it was for three family birthdays! The wine was not pleasant and very expensive for what it was - I think it sells in Tescos for £4.99!! So a bad experience was had and a very disappointing night. We most certainly will not be going back, but the impression we got from staff that they really did not care if we enjoyed the evening or came back again. And we left £10 as a tip - not sure why as it was most certainly not deserved. Cooment from my daughter who works in the Hilton Paddinton - if her waitresses dressed the way they did at the Lemon Tree showing large gaps between their shirts and trousers they would be sacked!! Not a pleasant site!
