3 week before my birthday my husband book a table for us in Apicius Restaurant in Cranbrook, Kent. I was looking forward to have a nice evening. We were dressed for the occasion. The table was book for 19 pm and we were 20 minutes early. While we were trying to find the restaurant and park the car we noticed that the restaurant was completely empty. There was a lady ( I was later told that she was the owner) wandering around. Anyway it suited me just fine and I made a comment to my husband that he perhaps booked the entire restaurant for me that night, we laughed. At 20 minutes to 7 we entered the restaurant but we could not because this lady stopped us and tersley stated that we were early and she did not prepare the "things" yet. I found this totally unacceptable and unprofessional. It was my birthday tehre was not a single soul in the restaurant, she could see from our outfits (black tie and evening dress) we had somehow a special night out. I was upset, she could see it, so she let us in, but the magic was gone. I would never go to that restaurant ever again. Yes the food seems to be ok (an pricey) but the worse is the owners attitude!
