Well I totally disagree with the previous comment and probably the service and the food changed a bit in a couple of years. The food wasn’t what you really expect from an typical Italian restaurant, don’t even bother with the starters. Service very slow, long wait for the food and they are not even good for themselves, I mean it took an eternity to get the bill and finally to pay I spent another life.

Mamma Mia restaurant is one of the best restaurants not only in Bristol! I'm half italian and I spent many years in Italy and I know about italian cousine. The food is fantastic!!! Carbonara - beautiful, rich hmmm.Pizzas to die for, absolutly perfection!!! About chiken diavola from, last review- noodles and spaghetti is not quite the same love, and thats how you eat chicken with pasta- you know italian way as it is ITALIAN restaurant. I doubt it if you could cook this real rich tomato souce as well... Anyway I tried almost everything ontheir menu and you can't go wrong! Portions are very good size, DELICIOUS!!!!!

I tried the Chicken Diavola dish for the first time today and it was a complete let down. When I saw my food it seemed like whoever served it was in a really bad mood! It wasn't at all what I expected. "Chicken Diavola" sounds rather appetising but instead I got a really small portion of spaguetti splashed out with a lot tomato sauce, which was all over the place... the presentation was terrible! So all chicken diavola was about was a few noodles and a huge chicken breast in a tomato sauce pool. Overall the taste was ok but if I had wanted to eat half a chicken and 3 noodles drowning in tomato sauce then I could've cooked that myself :P
