A LOVELY LOCATION WHEN WE ARRIVED BUT OUR DREAMS WERE SHATTERED WHEN WE WERE NOT WELCOMED IN ANYWAY, BY AN ABRUBT GUESTHOUSE OWNER! WHOM SEEMED TO BE HAVING A BAD DAY, WE ABOUT TURNED AND LEFT WITHOUT QUESTIONING OR ANSWERING HER ABUSIVE COMMENTS AND FOUND A LOVELY HOTEL DIRECTLY OPPOSITE!

I booked the family room at Hawthorne House b&b for one night 3/8/07, the booking was made a couple of days in advance and secured by leaving credit card details. I gave an estimated arrival time of 7-8pm but explained it could be later as we had a 4.5 hour journey with 2 young children, she said this was fine..she just needed a "rough" idea of when we would arrive. We got to the house just after 9 only to be told that she had "just that second given our room away". She refused to explain her mistake to the other people saying it was unfair to ask them to leave.. never mind the fact we had just travelled for hours to get there to a room which had been booked in advance! This experience left us miles from home, with 2 very tired children and nowhere to stay. Please check other review sites as i have read that other people have had similar experiences.
