Action Cars were probably my favourite taxi company for years until tonight - when they became the worst company I have ever come across in my 22 years. I rang them asking for a taxi from Wakefield to Pontefract for 2am and I got told I couldn't book one because apparently I booked one a week ago from Subway in Wakefield to 5 Dandy Mill Avenue in Pontefract and never got in it so I was blacklisted. This is ridiculous because: I don't live at 5 Dandy Mill Avenue I live at 5 Dandy Mill VIEW (which is close to Avenue and we get their post ALL the time), I don't go out in Wakefield (or at all really - this occasion was a friend's leaving do), the last time I went out in Wakefield was around the 4th of May (the date on the photos on Facebook proves this) and I ordered a taxi from Action Cars from Subway and actually got in it and paid the full amount. Since this I have ordered numerous taxis from Pontefract and had no problems at all. I rang up Action Cars tonight 7 times in total. The first 5 times they hung up on me pretty much straight away without letting me explain my situation - they were very rude and made me feel like I'd done something very wrong. I could hear the lady on the phone talking to other women in the background basically not paying attention to me in the slightest. On the 6th call (yes it was the 6th I have taken a screenshot of my call history to prove this) I got so agitated that I said "you're losing a fucking great customer by not listening to me" and hung up. I then rang another taxi company and they told me that it wouldn't be possible to get a taxi from Wakefield without having paid a deposit beforehand. I then rang Action Cars again and asked to speak to a manager. I was asked what this was in regards to and I said "in regards to the fact I was told I can't get a taxi because apparently I didn't get in a taxi last week that I didn't even order" and she said "no, you weren't told that you couldn't get a taxi because you didn't get in one last week it's because you won't pay a deposit". I then said "well, I will pay a deposit I'm not bothered about that I just want to get home" she then said something about me not being able to get one because I didn't get in a taxi last week that I apparently ordered (I didn't). I tried to explain that I don't go out often because I don't drink much and that my boyfriend was visiting last weekend so it was impossible that I rang for a taxi from Wakefield at 5am when I'm usually asleep by 11pm on a Saturday! The lady was having none of it and was ignoring me, talking about me to her colleagues in the background and even said "well someone's obviously stealing your phone and ringing people from it then aren't they?" I'm not stupid, dishonest or anything of the sort. I have a good job, a degree and am really honest about any mistakes I have. My call history says I haven't rang Action Cars in the last few weeks so I have no idea where they're getting this idea from. She wouldn't tell me the digits of the telephone number the call was made from and only said "it's the one you're ringing from now". In the 7th phonecall the manager lady was basically shouting at me and I was telling her to calm down and listen to me but she wasn't. I'm absolutely disgusted I was practically stranded in Wakefield at 2am and she said it was nothing to do with her. She treated me like I was a criminal when all I wanted to do was pay for a taxi home - even after the rudeness of the staff! I will never ever ever use Action Cars again. I have had a few bad experiences before but nothing at this scale, I've always let it slide before because I knew they were usually very good. I always booked taxis from Natwest in Pontefract to home and got in them straight away. The manager even asked how I got to Wakefield: we booked three taxis to take 12 of us to Wakefield, my friend booked them with Action Cars and got us there (albeit at 70mph!), she said I had to find my friend and get them to ring up and request the specific taxi driver.. as if he knew his name! He wasn't in the same taxi as me and we don't even live near each other, it was only because we'd met at a place for pre drinks that we could get taxis to Wakefield from the same place! She told me to try any taxis in Wakefield but I always got taught to only get in taxis you've pre-booked - anybody could pretend to be a taxi. Action Cars you've failed in my book, massively. Expect a phonecall tomorrow morning when I'm "sober" like you told me to do. If you don't treat me with respect then expect me to complain to every single thing I can complain to - especially Wakefield District Council. Have a good night, Rachael.
