went for a meal with family on monday night. meal was lovely apart from the chips- they would be more at home in mcdonalds than in a restaurant, used to have delicious home-made looking chips before, Two of the kids had cheeseburgers, which were incinerated, complained and two nicely cooked burgers were given as replacement,(the first two should never have been served) Friendly staff, a wee bit slow waiting for the starters, but gave us plenty time to catch up

We will never return to this so-called "hotel". There are no "views of the beautiful countryside", this place is in a run down part of Kilsyth. There was a very loud disco in the bar under our room until 1 o'clock in the morning, followed by loud noises of vulgar swearing drunks outside until after 2 o'clock. There was nobody in reception to complain to. The TV had no remote control. We had a twin room but it was not possible to have 2 keys. The room was very old fashioned and spartan. The blind on the window did not block any light, so we were awoken by the daylight at 6 o'clock. The sink in the bathroom had separate hot and cold taps instead of a mixer tap. There was no hot water in the morning, so no shower or wet shave possible. The food in the restaurant was certainly not prepared by a proper chef. The dressing on the salad (applied without asking) smelled and looked disgusting. The spaghetti and meatballs dish chosen by my son was served with a portion of meatballs served on top of a portion of drained spaghetti which was already sticking to itself. If you don't know how to correctly cook and serve pasta, don't try! All of the benefits of a 9 day reaxing and stress-free holiday in the Highlands were wiped out in a single night. I returned to Italy more tired and stressed than when we left.

Rooms were clean and tidy, if a little 'compact'. Sleep was not possible until the disco noise, from the bar beneath, ended at 1.00am. Breakfast was OK, but only up to 9.00am, so not possible to catch up lost sleep!
