I have used many different taxi companies in Worcester in the past, I found Cathedral Cars through their very informative and professioanal looking website, (which no other company has). I typed in "Worcester Taxis Uk" and up they came at the top. I followed the link to the "booking" page and made my booking for a quiet night out with my wife. After making my booking, shortly a very nice lady called me to confirm everything was booked. My journey was a great plesure, the driver was very helpful and really knew Worcester well, better than myself (to my mere embarassment). I thought i would take the time to write this review as people who seem to want to complain are always the first. Great Company - No Problems - Highly reccomened!

I booked a wheelchair accessible minibus to take my family including my disabled daughter for a meal to celebrate my eldest daughter's 21st birthday. I described our requirements clearly on the phone and was assured that we would be provided with an 8 seater wheelchair accessible mini bus. I was told that the receptionist would phone me back to confirm this the following morning, but this did not happen so I telephoned later that day and was given confirmation and a price. When the taxi turned up on the evening we were horrified to find that it was a small people carrier which could not accommodate all of our party plus the wheelchair user. The access was totally inappropriate, from the side up extremely steep portable ramps, and no fixings were available to keep the wheelchair stable. The driver's only solution to our problem was 'Find another company'. Given that our table was booked for 30 mins later and the specific nature of our requirements, this was obviously not an option. After lots of deliberation on the phone to their office and unhelpfulness on their part, we had to resort to taking one half of our party to the restaurant(25 mins away) and the driver returning to collect the others. This made us late for our table and could have ruined the evening had it not been for the understanding of the landlord at The Bear and Ragged Staff at Bransford. The journey with the wheelchair was extremely unsafe, as without proper fixings the chair, even with its brake on, was sliding all over the place and I had to hold it all the way. I dread to think what would have happened if we had been involved in an accident. It was due mainly to my son's firm insistance that we must have a properly equipped minibus for our return journey that we were able to get home together and in safety. He also had to insist on a discount, which was only given with reluctance and extreme unhelpfulness on the part of the staff. So when you look at the website and read about friendly professional service:well-that was not our experience. Our evening out, which should have been a great time for my daughter's 21st, was spoiled by this. Cathedral Cars need to review their provision of transport for customers in wheelchairs so that they and their families can enjoy nights out in a trouble-free way, just like anyone else.
