The hotel was excellent, my wife and i and our 3 children all stayed there, for a wedding. The room was awesome and also was the breakfast. The family that own the hotel were very kind and curteous. If you stay here you will love it, (ask for the oak room) it cost £65 per night and has a four poster bed and jaccuzi :) Great value!!!

Good Points: The staff were very helpful, and the hotel has lots of character. Food also very good. Bad Points: The standard of finishes in the bedroom (we had the Brown Room) generally leaves something to be desired. The current landlord has been in place for only a short time and will improve the standard. The shower was difficult to use. There was a lingering smell of fat near the entramce, which fortunately didn't extend to any other areas. There was a lingering smell of fat near the entramce, which fortunately didn't extend to any other areas. General Review: Generally a pleasant stay, made much better by the friendly and helpful staff. If you want an anonymous room with modern fittings, this isn't the place, but the inbuilt character and the friendly staff make up for the other shortcomings. The standard of finish should improve as the new landlord gets to grips with it. At the moment, some of the fitings and finishes look like a DIY job, though functional

Good Points: Quiet room away from the road (The Garden Suit, although it looked over a rather messy courtyard). It was not overheated which was much appreciated. Bad Points: The shower looked awful, and did not work properly. One light and shade missing from the centre light in the room. Wholemeal toast at breakfast would have been appreciated (white toast was like cardboard). General Review: I would not have booked had I known the shower was in need of so much attention. The bathroom also needed a freshen up, the ceiling was damaged and grubby, and the extractor fan above the toilet was broken and had bare wires showing. I would like to book again but would ask to see the room and facilities first. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
