went back to frankies despite my review above. service , greeting etc improved markedly. All spot on and the perfect wet sunday place. Dont leave without trying the faglioni!

busy but not full. welcome from bar staff was awful to be honest. amateurish. food good. starter arrived quickly but main course clearly forgotten and took an hour. at one point after main there was a 20 minute period when there were no waiting staff in the room at all prompting couple next to us to wander around, bill in hand, trying to pay someone. another couple got up and left (without paying). we were not offered puddings. took our drinks to the bar where again bar staff seemed odd to say the least. shame as i have said the food was good.

ventured back to frankies lured by the previous good food and magician for the kids but wary of the poor service previously experienced. glad we did. the menu is what relaxed sundays are all about and the food was impeccable. everything done well (although my pork belly portion was quite small)and truly delicious. wine list excellent and the service was both efficient and charming. magician also magnificent! 9.5/10 PS not nearly as expensive as it looks or as some in W4

sumptious (and slightly garish) decor but anice room in which to eat nevertheless. Food was standard fayre (burgers steaks etc) but all done very well indeed. My rib eye was first class. they had a magician in, it being a saturday, which kept the legions of kids amused. all in all a very welcome place for chiswick- slight gripe was as MPW himself was in the staff seemed very nervy and the service will have to improve long term
