We visited the Shukburgh Arms for the first time last Monday night. We were recommended this place by a friend. To be honest, we were expecting good quality pub food, but what we actually received was amazing and was top restaurant standard. As an ex chef myself, I am usually picky about my food. I found the menu to be very interesting. My simple starter of stilton mushrooms was perfect start to the meal. My wife had deep fried whitebait with a great homemade tartare sauce. We both had smoked haddock for our mains (which agin was cooked to perfection), with an absolutely delicious cheese sauce and poached egg. What a great place. Highly recommended. Well worth a visit.

100% Fantastic! This pub seems to have been taken over about 8 months ago, and they've done a very good job with the decor. Warm professional welcome. Plenty of space. Nice beer and wine. Now for the food. Sensational. 3 of us had starters, 4 had mains. All were served quickly and were presented very well. Absolutely gorgeous taste, good portions, and the fat chips are the best!! Even my mum was complimentary, and she's normally moaning about everything! Can't fault the place, highly recommended. I'll be back very soon!
