heard great things about this place so thought we should try it myself husband and 2 children ,as we do not eat out often as mooney is tight.pLplease do not waste your mooney the food was awful and the service was dreadful some young girl who was more worried about how her hair looked in the mirror. Not once did she come back and ask how the food was or did we need anything.for the price £47 we were very upset mc donalds would have been a better option.

My Wife and our 2 children visited The Magnet to give it a second chance after the last time we were there, well I'll be glad to say that we will never be back, the service the food all terrible, the toilets I would'nt even let a dog in them. Obviously the owners and management have no inkling of what is involved in the hospitality trade. It's not just about food and service, the people responsible for this poor excuse for a restaurant, you should be ashamed of syourelves, and please don't call yourselves restaraunters as that would just be comical. It is amazing that this place has gone down hill in the last year, it should be a goldmine, its got a great location, but unfortunately it lacks the professionalisim and insight to become a nice little family orintated place.

The meal was one of the nicest i have ever had..My friend had chicken goujons with chips while i had the chicken melter with garlic potatoes. The chicken was cooked to perfection and. We had two lattes to follow which were presented perfectly and tasted lovely. The waitress was one of the most friendly and attentive i have ever come across in all the years i have been eatng out.. Myself and my partner visited the magnet on sunday 28th November 2010 after not being in there for at least 18 months. My partner had the beef and guiness pie with garlic potatoes which he said was one of the nicest meals he has ever had and as for myself i had the salmon and baby boiled potatoes which i thought wasabsolutely beautiful. We both had toffee crunch as desserts followed by the most perfect lattes. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly, although they were very busy they looked after us extremely well. It has most definately improved 100% in all aspects since our last visit their, and we be back very very soon.

This place must be under new management. My wife and I called in for a meal recently and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Open Steak Sandwich and the Chicken Goujons. The meal was excellent, a great example of great Pub Grub. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend the Magnet as a great venue for casual dining.

My husband and I have eaten in this place several times now. It has always hovered around "mediocre", but last Saturday the food was an unparalelled disgrace. We both ordered garlic potatoes and chicken goujons. We only ever order these two items from any menu if we aren't stimulated enough to order anything else, and we always view this as a "safe" choice. The goujons were simply nasty - the breadcrumb coating was burned, the chicken inside was bone-dry and the whole ensemble totally tasteless - it could have been the proverbial cardboard. A hint of herbes de provence, or even plain oregano in the breadcrumb coating would only have helped. The accompanying chilli dip ( i.e. bottled Aisian condiment was revoltingly vinegary, and the garlic dip, no doubt also bottled, was just about edible. )The potatoes tasted like they'd been lying in their own thawed water for a few days - I've worked in catering myself and would put money on both these items being processed frozen items. There were two uninterested male cooks lolloping about in the kitchen, and it disgusts me a place like this can't even cook its own dishes. The waitress dawdled about clearing tables for about 10 minutes after giving us menu cards, and we had to ask her if there was any chance we might order ( the place had 2 other customers. )We will never be back there, I'd take a packed lunch and eat it in the car park sooner. A trully disgraceful meal, and the people responsible should be ashamed to serve such muck.
