This hotel needs a lot of money spent on, can't even get ch 5 on tv, rooms pokey and cold. old fashioned elec heaters bed damp due to coldness. Out of date info in room, ie menue.Only two staff on duty Sat, reception in the bar, so receptionist doing bar and waiting table. Get rid of once booked on the day, no cancellation, fall into line with all others, cancel by 4pm. Seen better hostels. Even travelodge better. Double bed, two single beds pushed together with rigde of mattresses protruding, some sleep I had and to be charged £80, just because of the great north rum was a rip off. Would not reccommend this hotel under any circumstances, sleep in yiur car. only saving grace is the staff, food and free wifi. The hotel sign can't be seen when travelling from the west. All the money is being spent in France on their hotels there, this place needs SERIOUS MONEY spent to come up to a hostel standard never mind a 2 star hotel. Wonder how often the security code for the outside door to the bed rooms is chaned, I;ll bet it is the same today as Saturday, Please tell telephone bookings about the 2pm check in. There is insufficient room in the room to get an easy chaior and the two wicker seated ones were so uncomfortable had to use a pillow, seats are softer in the bar, also ever tried to lay in bed and watch the tv at an angle of 30-40 degrees. Only one electical socket in the room, so watch tv or nothing else unless it has it's own power. Stayed at The Holiday inn in Edinburgh night before £90, what a come down. The staff deserve to work in a better establishment than this. Management get your fingers out, you don't deserve the staff you have.

Good Points: First time in a Campanile Hotel, will definately book again General review: Had a good nights sleep which makes all the difference, very comfortable and clean room - only point I would make is the toilet was too close to the wall, maybe if the sink was smaller you could of had the toilet further along, but overall very nice

Good Points: Pleasant staff and good food. We were moved at our request to a quieter room, without fuss or ado. The receptionist phoned the noisy occupants of the next room with a polite warning regarding their noisiness. Bad Points: Upon returning to our room at the end of our first night, it had not been serviced, despite leaving the appropiate card on the outside door handle. All of the room lights were on and the bed was made, but, no towels or refreshments. A staff member brought fresh supplies and apologised on behalf of the hotel. General review: We have stayed here on many occasions. This is the first hiccough of any kind and would not deter us from staying at this Campanile in the future.

Good Points: The staff were extremely helpful and really gave of their best. They made our stay most enjoyable. Bad Points: Not necessarily a 'bad' point, but the meals could do with a bit of 'perking up' just a small amount of 'green' vegetables is not sufficient with a main meal is not good. How about serving salad or at least garnish with the steak. Breakfasts seemed expensive for what was served. The rooms are very tight, just a few more inches in the bathroom and bedroom would make the whole stay much more enjoyable. To have the 'smoking area' just outside the entrance door to the bedrooms is not a good idea, non-smoking guests have to go through their smoke. General review: A good hotel and value for money.
