Good Points: Nice location by the river. Bad Points: There was a Christmas party going on in the restaurant (directly below our room) and the loud band didn't finish playing music until after 12 midnight. We weren't warned when we booked or when we checked in with our 9 month old son! When we went to bed we discovered the bed wasn't a full size double. We got next to no sleep. We were given a discount when we complained at check out but for them to think of charging nearly £100 is disgusting.

Good Points: Friendly staff and an excellent location. Bad Points: Tiny TV, no in room fridge or DVD player. Quality of food varied daily. Sometimes the food was supurb - worthy of 5 stars, other times it was quite average - even for the same meal. General Review: The Shillingford's best attributes are its very friendly staff and its excellent location. Situated right on the Thames it offers the ideal spot to sit and enjoy and drink or two. While the rooms would benefit from the addition of a fridge, dvd/cd player and larger tv's, they are tidy and comfortable and kept clean. I'll stay here again.

Good Points: Beautiful views, relaxed atmosphere, everything within easy reach, friendly and helpful staff. Bad Points: The hotel seemed to have a slightly older clientele, but other than that nothing. It would have been useful to have more pricing information when booking - I was only offered the bed and breakfast rate. Not enough information given about facilities, e.g. swimming pool. General Review: We had a lovely relaxing weekend in Shillingford. The area is slightly quieter than we expected, but there are opportunities to get a boat along the river. The food was great and the staff seemed to take great care of guests. We really enjoyed it as a place to stay for a short break.
