We went here (as a party of 11) in an attempt to celebrate my father's 80th birthday because he lives quite close. We had booked three weeks in advance and confirmed a few days in advance After about 30 minutes sat at our table we had to ask for menus. Our starters took another half hour to be served. Another half hour (at least) past between removing our starter plates and serving our mains. The main courses arrived over almost one hour and were variously inedible - cold, badly cooked or simply horrible. By now we had established with the manager, a pretty arrogant man (best summarised by my nephew as "what a dick") that we would not be paying, so they essentially gave up on us. His claim that they had "thrown out 250 meals" that day is illustrative of the attitude of this crew. This was the worst dining out experience of my life (I'm approaching 50). I work in Scotland, so see my parents and extended family only occasionally. The people who claim to operate a restaurant at this establishment ruined my Dad's birthday and totally spoilt one of the few remaining chances we will have to gather the whole clan. However, they also gave us a memorable family moment when they asked if we'd like to choose dessert - how we laughed. Not on your Nelly - we went to a decent pub and filled up on crisps and nuts! Avoid this place - it is rotten.

Dined with 4 friends and what a terrible experience and food.Staff did not know about the 2 course special price menu-eventually found under the counter, despite being highlighted on their website ! We all went for the main menu. Food served cold and then reheated !Poor quality fish, soggy batter and poor quality fish in the fish pie Best aspect was the good quality bread. Table not cleared for 20 minutes until we found someone and asked. They need some good chefs,a smaller menu, more staff.Poor value for money
