as a child I lived at the bottom house in mutton fold which is now part of the pub, my godmother and godfather Philis and Walter yates were the tenants of the pub in the late forties when I was a child, we moved to Illingworth around 1948 and I have only been in the pub once since, that was about 8 years ago when I noticed that what was once our one and only room has become part of the pub, directly underneath that room was a celler the door adjasent to the door leading to the bottom yard, my granny and my mum ran down into the celler and we hid under a big stone slab table whenever there was an airaid, out of interest is that slab stone table still in the celler
