hi we visited the black swan for lunch on the sunday on a recommendation. on entering it was full of character but cold, we sat near a fire and asked if they would turn it on but no one did. the meal was big, but the sprouts were hard and the york pudding and roast pots seemed like yesterdays, a bit dissapointed might try again at another date

we visited this hotel for a meal while we were on holiday in the area. i can honestly say iv never enjoyed a meal out with my young family so much. theres a family room at the rear or the pub which had a nice relaxed atmosphere. we were made very welcome by the staff who were happy to change some things on the menu for us, having 3 kids that are fusy eaters this was ideal. when the meal came it was beautifuly presented and looked mouth wattering! i have to say it tasted as good as it looked. the thing that pleased the kids the most was dessert - they had plenty of choice, not just the usual ice-cream that most pubs serve kids, they even had the choice of various types of ice-lollies! a fantastic family pub, just wish we had found it earlier in our holiday.
