Our experience at Portobello Gold was very disappointing. For a start, it's much more of a bistro style, than a restaurant -- a shame considering what we were hoping for on Valentine's Day. The service was very slow -- our waiter carried out a long conversation with the next table while holding our bottle of wine as we waited for him to pour it! In the end, it wasn't even the wine we had ordered! Our entrees were nice enough, but our mains were oily and bland -- the pasta with scallops came with two inedible scallops on top which resembled hard rubber on the outside and uncooked mush on the inside. The waiter did kindly remove this dish from our bill, but by then our experience of Portobello Gold was was a very negative one. We will not be returning.
