the ambience of this pub never lets us down ,we have had many celebrations here since our wedding and never been let down.I love the fact that you can have a 3 course meal of fantastic quality without breaking the bank .And its nice to celebrate our history at the same time .

My husband and I have never been disappointed here. The atmosphere is great, the food is always of a high standard. This is our number one place to eat out. We have celebrated many occasions here and taken our Christening party for our son there.

Pub staff friendly and service good. However food was really disappointing. Moules Marinare was nice but quite a few of the mussles not in shells so had quite a few empty ones. As it was around £10 a dish was a bit miffed! My partners Tai Fish cakes were also a let down. More potato than fish and sauce tasted like seafood dressing from a jar had been used. My lasagne was mediocre....a bit lacking in bechmael sauce. Would have been so much nicer if a) was more lasagne with more mince and homemade sauce....tasted like shwartz packet mix had been used. b) served with just a few chips (too many!) or Garlic bread and maybe a few peas? No need to have seperate dish of salad as a side, not very nice anyway. All in all food akin to something that you would get in the 70's....sorry but it's a real shame as I have eaten at a lot of places and this comes in at the bottom end. Also the pricing is wrong. £10 something for a lasagne is just too expensive....wants to be around £6.95 to £7.95.

If you get the chance visit this superb pub .The owners lee and david are possibly the friendliest and most helpful people i have come to meet. We had our wedding reception there in march 2007 ,the preperation and help they gave was second to none .All the food is cooked by themselves to a very high standard .Everything went to plan thanks to them.they have a good selection of fresh fish and steaks also some daily specials .In the last 10 years that i have been going there we have never been disapointed and hopefully while the lee and david are still there i doubt we ever will .Try it out
