Best rates for a Local Hotel

Booked to camp in their back field/yard over the phone. They decided they needed to take a payment of £32 over the phone. Arrived to find a 'local pub'. EMPTY camp ground overlooked by the neighbors. People mowing laws etc. As we drove away their savage dog was trying to kill us from behind a fence. Heard the banjos playing. Decided not to stay. Phoned them to make sure they haven't charged the card but of course they did because we had inconvenienced them. We had booked to pitch two two man tents. They apparently had 27 tents booked for the night. Miraculous!

My only advice would be to steer well clear of the Hare and Hounds pub restaurant and campsite in Rye Foreign. The aggressive and thoroughly inhospitable nature of the landlord makes for a very unpleasant experience. Myself and my wife stayed this weekend whilst cycling in the area and would certainly not recommend the Hare & Hounds campsite, B&B, pub or restaurant to anybody looking to stay in the Rye area. Inhospitable is an understatement! The Landlord Rob, with his intimidating and aggressive nature made for a wholly unpleasant visit. Don't be fooled by the pleasant exterior, this pub, B&B, Restaurant and campsite is run by people who have an entirely different definition of customer service. Rye has some wonderful pubs and restaurants and this isn’t one of them
