9/10 for our stay at hotel felix,it was excellent, staff were nice and polite, barman was very nice, our room was great,we stayed in room 40,it was the best nights sleep we had in ages, not a sound was heard.taxi to centre only £5,we had breakfast in bed and it was delicious.my only complaint is that we went out into the town that night and got back around 12.30pm and could not get in,we tried 3 different doors and when we were eventually let in we were told we should have telephoned to let them know we were coming,we were not told of this when we arrived and a quite snotty foreign man took delight in letting us know and also after i rang to order breakfast they had to disturb us another three times as the once again foreign girl did not ask us everything she was supposed to,and i asked for it for 9am and it arrived just after 8.30,had to jump out of shower, they also forgot to bring the coffee so had to again disturb us but apart from that we had agreat time and would definately go back

On Saturday the 9th June 2007 my partner and I visited the Graffiti restaurant in Hotel Felix for an anniversary meal. When we arrived at the hotel we discovered that they had a large party of wedding guests but as it turned out this didn't seem to have any negative impact on the quality of the service or the food. It certainly gave the place a buzz with quite a bit of activity on the terrace early on in the evening and just a little bit of noise from disco upstairs much later on. In spite of traffic between the wedding reception upstairs and the bar/terrace adjacent to the restaurant the wedding party was really quite well segregated from the normal dining guests and the atmosphere in the dining room was extremely relaxed and pleasant. From our experience on this visit I would say that the service in the restaurant strikes an excellent balance between attentiveness and being given space to enjoy the meal without interruption. Having said that, my partner and I enjoy a leisurely meal and appreciate reasonable gaps between courses to digest and relax - so if you are used to a more hurried dining experience then you might be disappointed. Whenever we finished a course our empty plates were soon cleared away and when we needed to attract attention from the staff it really was not an effort. My partner started with scallops and chorizo risotto followed by lemon sole, capers and shrimp with new potatoes and French beans. I had roasted lambs sweetbread with an endive and bacon salad followed by slow roast park, cabbage, black pudding and fondant potato with French beans. I find it impossible to fault the food that I was served - a real experience of taste and texture, excellently presented, leaving me comfortably full at the end. My partner had a similar experience but found she had to limit her consumption of the capers to avoid overpowering the flavour of the fish. This was all washed down with some excellent wine from Argentina. With pre-dinner drinks, food, wine and coffee at the end our bill came to around £100. Our favourite restaurant in Cambridge is probably Number Twenty-Two's on Chesterton Road. Graffiti can't quite knock that from the top spot but if you've been to 22's already this year and you fancy a change, without sacrificing on quality but not having to pay a great deal more, then you might find Graffiti hard to beat.

This hotel is trying to be a new, boutique-y hotel. 1. Rooms are well laid out, beds are comfortable, sheets are good 2. Staff is very willing and polite 3. They have REALLY good hairdryers. You may laugh but that's not very common even in really top class hotels. 4. food super Nothing too bad here, but a few disappoinments 1. There is no gym. I find it extraordinary that anyone would open an upmarket hotel in this day and age and not have a gym. How hard is it to have one? They offer you passes to a gym in town, but that's 3 miles away. Why would I want to trek in there with all my gym stuff, shower etc there and then go on for the day? Ludicrous idea 2. Air con is present but not fully effective. Fans are provided in rooms but that's not really what you're expecting in a hotel at this price. 3. It's three miles out of town, not really walking distance. Perhaps they should offer bikes as part of the service?
