Best rates for a Local Hotel

A good place to stay with friendly owners/people and good breakfasts. Note that I did not mention dinner/tea. We were told that there were evening meals, although when we were there, this was not the case, so I'd therefore class it as a B & B not hotel as its name suggests. Still, the atmosphere of the building was good, and rather family friendly, with games in the drawing room, and a good food selection - even for the fussiest of kids. However, to have improved our stay, more attention to those small, but important details, should have been made. Just little things such as perhaps a welcome booklet with information about the establishment and what they offer (e.g. what drinks are in the bar) and about the local area (e.g. reccommended restaurants and attractions) might have made it that extra bit nicer, or you might say the icing on the cake. Still, at least the room was clean, unlike our previous stay at another establishment. In the morning, we were able to chose the time at which we wanted to eat, and, as I think I have said, there was a wide selection of food- from cereal such as cornflakes and alpen, to a good old, full english breakfast and toast. In conclusion, the establishment is both family friendly and welcoming. I'm not sure as to whether or not I'd reccommend it to a friend, as I think it would depend on the friend. I would also agree with the rating, as a good, 4 Star Establishment.

Two nights spent with comfort, cleanliness and a superb food selection for two evening meals for four people.Quiet surroundings and a most welcoming host who catered for our every need. An ideal place to stay if a journey on the Settle-Carlisle railway line is what you want-two minutes walk to the station at Long Preston
