Reviews of Vine, Newark

The Vine is a good, old fashioned basic, traditional multi-roomed back street boozer, situated about a seven or eight minute walk out of town. Worth finding. It basically comprises an L-shaped public bar, with a large lounge through the back. The décor is reasonably spartan, though the lounge is smarter, as is to be expected. Pub doesn't open 'til 3 pm weekdays. Real cider is available all summer and as long as their supplier can get it after that. Language can sometimes be ripe, but the atmosphere is never threatening. There are usually three or four, sometimes five beers served.
