My wife, daughter and son in law along with grandchildren 14 and 2 years of age went into this establishment to day for a carvery lunch. At the bar my wife ordered 4 main courses,no problem, after we put our meals on our table the manager followed demanding £2.50 for the small plate which our daughter had picked up and put 1 roast spud and a tablespoon of veg.from her own plate for the 2 year old,we refused to pay this as we did not think it was fair,he replied we do not give away food. We left shortly after this,my wife had a quiet word with the manager and in his rudeness he kept saying we had stolen the said plate even though he had removed it from the table. This man? does not deserve any business My daughter left her full meal, too upset after her childs meal had been taken from her, after talking to friends in the area they to have experienced his attitude and to not frequent this pub.

This is a lovely family pub, about 5 minutes away from the town centre. With a car park, disabled toilet, kids indoor soft play area, outdoor kids play area, beer garden, lounge, family room and restaurant/function room this pub has got something for everybody. Whether you are having a celebration, a quiet drink, a family outing or a business conference, the Black Bull can cater for all. The pub is inviting with a relaxing atmosphere, and the friendly staff and management ensure a warm welcome. The food is brilliant! (even the staff menu tastes good =]) The chefs are very good at what they do with a varied menu to cater for all tastes (it even has a vegetarian section and kids menu.) The carvery on a Sunday is very good value for very good quality food. Adults; 1 course £6.95, 2 course £8.95 and 3 course £10.95 with children’s prices being just £4.50 for a 1 course, £5.50 2 course and £6.50 3 course. The pub is lively and fun on a Saturday night with Ste the DJ's popular and up-to-date music playing (he has a vast range of music if you'd like to request) and karaoke, with some regulars being very talented signers. You are sure to have a good night in the Black Bull. Are you a rugby league fan? On Saints home matches, the pub is packed out with fans both home and away, it is a buzzing and fun place to be yet at the same time very welcoming, there is also a BBQ provided which serves very nice food at equally nice prices. Children's parties are great =P with food, party bag, games, music and play time in the jungle fun included as well as a dedicated party host, you are surely getting great value for your money. Special occasions are also highly regarded in the Black Bull. *There is a special Christmas menu in December, which is great value for money and saves you the preparation and washing up-so you can truly relax and enjoy this meal  *A New Years Eve party-tickets only (in high demand), with disco, karaoke, fun and lively atmosphere, and a luxury buffet. *Children’s Halloween Party …and many more! Your own personal special occasions are also catered for in the Black Bull, with a function room to hire, several different buffets to be provided and hard working staff and management to make your special day just that bit extra special! There have been many a birthday party (not just children’s, but 18th, 21st and so on too) there have been several hen and stag parties in this lovely pub as well as weddings receptions, christening parties and just about anything you could think of, the staff will be more than happy to help make the day a memorable one. So whatever it is you are looking for, the Black Bull caters for all. Whether you want a quiet drink, a party or a family meal-the Black Bull is the place for you.
