Journeying southwards by car from the Stornaway to London, I decided to stop one night somewhere near Aviemore to catch up on sleep..and have a day's rest. Kingussie looked a friendly small town en route and off the main A9. With cosy shops and a pleasant atmosphere I soon found myself in a local shop asking for local B&B recommendations. The sportswear shop sold me a £6.50 bobble hat, which I had needed..and my B&B enquiry was dealt with! Arden House was immediatley suggested.."they're very friendly there as well"..and soon I was on B&B doorstep unannounced! The Proprietor and his family couldn't have been more welcoming..and the House was immaculate. I had a great sleep and arrived at breakfast with great expections. 10/10 I'd say. The porridge was superb..and satisfied every taste bud. The Scottish Breakfast plate was worthy of a photograph. I certainly recommend Arden House B&B and will return one day. Lingering around the town that morning resulted in conversations with many of the local folk. For me...Kingussie is now on the map!
