A very pleasant 'real' pub with flagstone floor and ceiling beams. It also has a very pleasant garden and conservatory. The Sunday lunch is fantastic, being a carvery the choice of meats is great and the assortment of vegetable is the best I've seen. I visit Gillinghan quite often and always make sure it's a Sunday, so not to miss Sunday Lunch at the Dog and Bone.

In my opinion, most of the great men of the past were only there for the beer - the wealth, prestige and grandeur that went with the power. - A J P Taylor
