i would just like to thank all the staff at this hotel for their very kind and welcoming service that i recived on a recent visit . the day was very importian as i got engaged on this day and would like to thank them for making this day very special for me . on further visit i was met with the same warm welcome and recived exellent service and very well priced drinks , i am looking forward to tasting the menu as it sounded very good also . i live in hazelrigg which is a very long way from brampton but every time i visit i make sure that the white lion is my first port of call setting me up for the day with their propper sized cups of tea . on a cold day there is nothing quite like a lovely chat with the staff and owner to make you feel welcome . thank you again white lion for keeping your establishment open and to the high standards i expect from a family run buisness , yours janine and janice your loyal if not far away customers .

Sadly I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. It is almost a case of where to start. No bedside light; no hair dryer; overheated room with a radiator that could not be turned down or off; breakfast was unbelievable: we ordered one coffee and one tea and were presented with a mug of instant coffee and a mug of hot water with a teabag in it. It was the worst hotel experience for several years and countries.

This was probably one of the worst experiences of my life, the room we were offered was terrible the radiator was just stood against the wall to cover up some very poor decorating, if you consider staying at this hotel PLEASE DONT and save your self heart ache.

The White Lion Hotel has recently changed hands. The new proprieter has made a good job of sprucing the place up! It looks pristine on the outside with tasteful hanging baskets full of colourful plants and flowers. Friendly, welcoming bar staff. Excellent pub meals or a wonderful place to just drop in for a pot of tea! On a sunny day you can sit outside and admire the historical views of Brampton.

Rescued by a 'knight in shining armour' from the cold and rain outside. What a lovely place and super proprietor. Shame I couldn't stay to really enjoy the food and facilities!

Not the first time that we have visited the White Lion Hotel in Brampton, but the new proprietor Brenda Hardy, couldn't have been more sociable. We may have only attended for a meal, but found this to be a very friendly, helpful and excellent value establishment. We can highly recommend to all who may find themselves in this lovely town in Cumbria. Well done Brenda and we will visit again soon.

This is more of an inn than a hotel. The rooms are just above the pub and kitchen which in this case means the smells dwell through the building. However the atmosphere and pub grub is good, the proprietor friendly and the rates acceptable. Parking just around the corner (not secured). On a scale from 1 to 10 we give it a 7.
