We were able to get a table without booking (This should have told us something!) The service was dreadful, with long waits in between and being left with the feeling that we were forgotten about. I got my own drinks rather than wait. The soup was advertised on the board as being cream of pea and ham. It was not and served luke warm. The replacement offering was not much better and just had some single cream poured into it. The steaks that we ordered, however were very good, so a recovery for the main course. We had to wait over 20 minutes for the sweets and to add insult to injury the people on the next table , who had only just ordered, were served with their sweets before us. Any positive thoughts about the food were negated by the poor service and lack of attention. Overall it was a bad experience which I will not be repeating. It was expensive and in my view not reflective of the standard of food or service I would expect for that kind of money. I will not be recommending it to any of our many dining out friends.
