Hi all, We first went to the Robin Hoodin in 2007 and had a lovely meal and great service. It was very busy too. Not cheap but good value for money. We went again today trying to repeat the previous experience. ANd it didn't work out. Got there at 12.30pm and it was empty, a table of two arrived later on. It was six of us, the menu wasstrambotic and din't fancy much of it. Only roast pork or beef. I had a very below standard fish and chips (there qwas virtually no batter and the mushy peas had the dry texture of Bomaby mix). Another three had a pie, that was dry, meat was tough literally super hard, the last one had the pork and it didn't look bad; pitty they didin't have apple sauce (???). For every body it was bisto gravy powder (probably not even bisto brand). It took almost half hout to get the table clear and the puddings ordered. Let's not talk about them. When paying I drawed the waiters attention (did I mention only two front of house persons to look after the restaurant and the bar) to the bill as we hadn't been charged for the puddings (??), off he went to check. We finally left at 15:30, dissapointed and hungry (???). Goodluckto the brave ones. Will never go back!!!

Went to this pub/restaurant for a meal (drink first!). It was a cold evening and the bar was very warm and welcoming. The restaurant was very nice with the tables well spaced so you weren't squeezed up against the person behind you. I found the menu limited (and I eat anything!) and didn't fancy much on it but chose the one and only vegetarian dish which was absolutely delicious. Wish I'd asked for the recipe! The other 3 people in my party also enjoyed their meals which they'd chosen off the blackboard. We all had desserts (once again I didn't feel spoilt for choice) but the Christmas pudding that I had was lovely - moist and flavoursome. We paid £68 for 4 main courses and 4 starters, which is a bit of a bargain and I would go there again even if I did have to have the same meal! Oh, very nice staff too.
