I am not a person that usually complains but feel compelled that this time i have to. I have used kingkabs taxi service in ellesmere port for many years both socially and professionally i work in ellesmere port with Innospec (formeley Associated Octel)and in the past put a lot of work through this company. I have been away from ellesmere port for just on 3 months with my work and on Tuesday 24th this month i called at approximately 1940hrs and asked for a taxi to collect me from Hooton Railway Station to take me home. Judging from the amount of time it took for my call to be answered i presumed that they were maybe busy due to the poor weather, when my call was eventually answered i mentioned this to the female operator who answered the call to my surprise her response was abrupt and very stand offish - No its dead was infact her reply i continued to order my taxi and all was going fine until i asked for a car and ringback i was then told it would be a cab (hackney carriage i presumed she meant) at which point i said i would rather have a car if it was ok and was told it was either a cab or a wait of up to an hour. At this point i was quite confused as at the outset of our conversation she quite clearly told me it was "Dead" when i questioned this her response was to sigh and discontinue the call. I was furious but just wanted to get home i had had a long day and just didnt need this. A few moments later a taxi from Eastham came to collect someone from the station he very kindly arranged for a taxi from his company to collect me. Very disappointed in Kingkabs Ellesmere Port and believe some customer care training would be beneficial to your staff before they be allowed to speak to potential clients.

I have used taxis for many years and always use kingkabs both chester and ellesmere port as my daughter lives and works in ellesmere port.I care for my grandchildren 5 days a week and use taxis to get from my home in Handbridge to my daughters home in ellesmere port. I have done this for some 3 years - using chester kingkabs to ellesmere port and ellesmere port kingkabs back to chester. Sadly i will now be using chester kingkabs for both journeys as on saturday (my grandsons birthday)after spending the day with my daughter celebrating this day i rang kingkabs ellesmere port was spoken to in a very un professional manner told i would HAVE to hire a hackney cab as there was not a car available for me i explained that it was a car i needed as i cannot get into a cab and was told i had best ring somewhere else then! I explained how often and how much money i spend within the company but was told very abruptly to call back in an hour see what the situation is then and with that the call was disconnected. I was furious at this and rang chester kingkabs explained my problem not only were they very sympathetic but sent me a car which arrived in less than 10 minutes and took me home to Handbridge. Thank you to all at Chester Kingkabs.

Overall they are the best taxi firm in chester. I've been using them for years. You do sometimes get rude drivers but they just never get a tip off me.I think its good how they employ the guy that helps you with your shopping at the back of tesco. He works in all weathers and most miserable sods don't even give him the pound tip from the trolley for helping them. Much better than the black cabs in chester, now they are unreliable. They usualy arrive very quickly and the prices are ok, cheaper than abbey anyway.

I pre-booked this taxi firm to meet me and my five year old daughter from Manchester Airport at twenty to one in the morning. I confirmed again three days before that we would be met as arranged.I was assured that all was booked and a driver would be there to meet me. I was quoted £35 for this trip. Not only did they not turn up - when I called to find out where my pre-booked taxi was I was told he was ten minutes away. This turned out to be a blatent lie andhaving called again I was told that a driver would take 20 minutes to get there. By my calculations this would be impossible - to get from Chester to the airport in that time. Sure enough, I got a call from the driver to say he was stuck in roadworks (yeah - right!!! - where exactly are the roadworks and I can't imagine volume of traffic at 1.30am in the morning would cause a hold up) He phoned on arrivalto say he was there except he was at terminal two not terminal one as I had booked. At least he apologised when he eventually did get there one hour twenty minutes later than booked. When we arrived at my destination I confirmed that the fee was £35 which he disputed and told me it was £40. At this point I couldn't be bothered arguing and paid him £40 but rest assured I will never use KingKabs again and more importantly will make sure that all my business contacts, friends, colleagues are made aware of the catalogue of disasters I encountered. If anyone at Kingkabs would like to put themselves in my position and think about how best to make amends I would be delighted to listen to them.

I have used this taxi service for years but over the last few months it seems there has been a large turnover of staff and I find the new staff seem to have a devil may care attitude continuing conversations after answering the phone and then when they do eventually decide to take your call dont seem to know what they are doing and are very rude and abrupt

i live in ellesmere port but shop and socialise in chester frequently so use chester kingkab to go home to ellesmere port quite often. recently i could not get a taxi from chester as they were too busy and the wait would have been 40 minutes as the races were on so i contacted ellesmere port who even on a wednesday evening were also busy but the lady i spoke to was very helpful and polite she even asked if i was alone and if i had somewhere "safe" to wait as it would be about 15 minutes before she could get me a car i was very impressed as it happened the car came for me about 10 minutes later i did phone to thank her for the kindness shown to me but she told me it was all part of the service and that she was only doing her job - what a company kingkabs is both chester and ellesmere port - fantastic.

A very dissapointing service considering it is the largest Taxi firm in Chester. Met with a very unfortuate attitude of a female operator. I suggest that the management of KingKab remove the services of this woman before she loses the company more custom.
