The room was small by most standards and appeared to have been papered with wrapping paper. The choice of TV channels was laughable in this age of satellite TV (BBC1,2, ITV, Ch4, CH5, Discovery, Comedy Central & Sky1). The food in the restaurant was terrible. I had steak and it came with 3 potatoes (smaller than small chicken's eggs), one brocolli floret (almost raw), 5 carrot rings (3mm thick), 2 baby sweetcorn (almost raw) and 1 cauliflower floret that had been shown some hot water as it wasn't cold. This was repeated the second night when I tried a steak from a different part of the menu. If you are vegetarian you have only one meal choice for the whole week. To cap it all they tried to charge me for two meals in one night.

My partners mum and husband had their wedding at the homestead court hotel, staff made every effort to accomodate our party. Food was beautiful, ceremony was wonderful and hotel very clean. Breakfast was well cooked and staff were attentative to both food and customers. all in all i'd give this hotel an 8/10 I really enjoyed my stay here and also the meal i took my partner to the hotel for a meal on valentines day for although was highly priced I thoroughly enjoyed.

Good Points: The room was a good size and well-equipped. The standard of cleanliness was very high. Bad Points: Nothing General Review: 1. I did not feel that it was made clear enough on the on-line booking site that the reservation was room only. This may be my fault for not reading the information closely enough, but it was not until I arrived that I realised that breakfast was not included. 2. At £12.50 breakfast was overpriced for what it was, and, when added to the £65.00 room cost, made for a relatively expensive stay. 3. The staff at breakfast, while friendly enough, were not exactly efficient - I had to ask for toast more than once, there was no milk on the table etc. 4. However, overall, the hotel was comfortable and pleasant and certainly much improved from the previous time I stayed there about four years ago.
