Visited this Pub on a business meeting. The food was of an excellent standard, served by friendly staff. We will be visiting this restaurant again!

Not sure what has happened to this pub as on all our past visits we have been great. This evening,as it was the first game England were playing in the World cup the pub was virtually empty, and so the food really should have been perfect! but it wasn't. The chips had been precooked and then refried, making them .... greasy and unpleasant and the trout I ordered - I was presented as two small ones. They were very dry, did not flake off the bone and tasted and smelled 'off' .(I eat a lot of fish so I do have some idea.) I mentioned this to one of the staff who said she would mention it to the chef. He did not materialise, but when she eventuallly did , and I asked for his response, she said he would 'look into it!! Overall, very disappointing, to the extent we will NOT be going again, and my husband will not be arranging his works dinners there anymore either. :o) quite unbelievably BAD
