The Bat and Ball has recently been taken over by a couple who moved here from Wales. When we visited they had only been in the pub a week and were making friends with the locals as they came through the doors. The food is excellent, I can recommend the steak cooked just the way I asked for it. The couple have a dog of their own so welcome any dogs on leads in the pub or garden. We enjoyed our visit and were made to feel very at home even though we were only passing through, if we are ever in Hampshire again we will visit once more. thanks to Liz and Merv for the lovely welcome.

My Sister and I had a lovely meal at the Bat and Ball on the 15th February 06. We were made very welcome by the staff and enjoyed ourselves very much.

Excellent service and food. I much appreciated the ability to have half size portions as I cannot eat large meals and was brought up in a time when food was not wasted. The way a large group of people were catered for was truly proffessional. On 1 January we had the misfortune to be invited to a pub that only offered reheated roast dinners at vastly inflated prices. Difficult for vegatarians. More to the point at 1230 the toilets had yet to be cleaned from the nignt before when quite clearly someone had been very ill. After this experience The Bat and Ball was doubly appreciated. I would appreciate it if you would pass my thanks to staff and management. David Philpot
