Lovely decor and surroundings. Visited on a thursday evening and we were the only people in the restaurant. Waiting staff were very attentive and did every thing they could to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent with a good choice of starters, main courses and desserts. The meal was fantastic value at £15 pounds per head for three courses. Will definately visit again although it would have added to the atmosphere if there had been more customers-perhaps not enough people know about it yet.

We went to the Anchor for Lunch on Father's day, my partner and i had the Lasagne which we both really enjoyed, my partner said it was better than the one he makes and he makes a mean Lasagne, all the kids finished there food too which is unusual ,Two of them had spaghetti bolognese and one had buger and chips. I had a lovely dessert Lemon posset with icecream. The Landlady was very friendly and even told us what icecream they used with the dessert as we all like it so much. The only thing they did all say was they would have liked a little more, i didn't think it was to bad as they were £5 meals.

A very pleasant pub with friendly staff. The resturant was candle-lit and very atmospheric, the food outstanding...the bar busy but yet comfortable. This pub has everything for everyone and is a definite must go to. Glad it is back open.

Under new management! At last the Old Anchor is open for business again and is looking a great venue for meals and drinks. Definitely worth a visit with your family or friends!
