Having been taken over in late 2005 the Rising Sun has been given a new makeover and has a top class chef as the new landlord. As you'd expect the focus is on the food, with the most amazing sunday lunch i've ever had. The roast pork was generous, presented beautifully and with the most georgeous roast potatoes known to man. The starter (roast pigeon breast with rocket and walnuts) was fantastic and the desert (chocolate mud pie with homemade caramel sauce and icecream) was too good to leave, even though I was ready to burst at this stage. Great beer and friendly staff and locals, the best pub in the whole of essex!
