Good Points: Excellent food, especially cooked breakfasts, with a large and attentive staff. Great coffee! Bad Points: Room a bit "tired" and in need of modernisation, especially bathroom. Greater selection of continental buffet would have been nice. General review: Excellent location, interesting hotel, pleasant and attentive staff.

Only stayed two nights but would have like to stay more, will definitely return, I cannot find fault with anything. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel and Gym, the staff were only to happy to help and nothing to much trouble. The hotel was very clean and gardens very well tended. No hidden extras which is very refreshing. Great location, only minutes to city and amenities.

Good Points: Good size Bad Points: Bit tatty, no recognisable style General review: Excellent location with easy walking access to the city centre - attractive buildings in a smart neighbourhood - good breakfast and breakfast service. Room was a bit run down and impersonal. Huge bed which was quite comfortable, two good easy chairs. Huge bathroom and wardrobe. Double sink but it felt a bit like a communal washroom.

I chose this hotel because its website gave the impression that it was a charming, historic hotel situated on the waterfront. The reality was quite different. Although the hotel occupies a building that is several hundred years old, the interior looks more like a cheap motel from the 1970s, with artex ceilings and horrible shades of dark brown in the hallways. The rooms were clean, but the fixtures and fittings were in a variable state of repair and the overall impression was one of neglect. My television had a broken remote control and only three channels worked. I went to sleep early because I found my room so depressing. On the plus side, the hotel has a good location, the staff are helpful and the breakfast is fine. The owners need to either redecorate or lower their fees. The current prices do not offer value for money.
