Was taking a friend from Argentina to see some sights near Edinburgh. Dunfermline, then Culross, Stirling, then Linlithgow and back. Went to the abbey in Culross, and we were about to leave when I heard a band playing live. Wandered through trees and eventually came across a notice 'Culross Festival 2nd June - Caravan'. Eh ? Nah !! Surely not. I walked into the soundcheck and asked a bloke lying on the grass if indeed this was Caravan. He had travelled from the south of England, so it was true. Bloody hell. Caravan. We went to Stirling and swiftly returned, payed the £20 and had a cold, but fantastic night. The band were brilliant. 'Golf girl' and ' Nine feet underground' the stand out songs. Just the most amazing night. Thanks Culross, thank you.

Good Points: Nice atmosphere with excellent menu. Bad Points: A bit out of the way. A cupboard door in the bathroom had swelled from damp and didn't close. Funny noises very early in the morning - sounded like plumbing. General review: Very comfortable and food was excellent. Very nice helpful staff.

Good Points: Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere Bad Points: TV didn't work properly, Shower head broken, breakfast ready at 7.30am (I needed to get away shortly after) General review: Better than an anonymous hotel chain, but with a little attention could have been much better.
