My wife and I did a 7 day tour of "the highlands" in 1997. I had visited the Banchory area several times on business and was excited about being able to take my wife to experience the same thrills I had had during my visits. We did not have reservations at the Banchory Lodge the night of our stay and to be honest, we just stumbled upon it as we were driving through Banchory. We went inside the lodge and inquired about availability and was told that 1 room was still available. I told the young lady that I was afraid that the Banchory Lodge was going to be a little more that what we were going to be able to afford. She quoted us an unbelievable rate and said she would rather have us stay there than to let the room go unoccupied. Our 1 night stay there turned out to be the highlight of our entire trip. This was by far the nicest accomodation we experienced during our complete stay in Great Britian. The breakfast in the morning was absoluely perfect. The room was like a junior suite and provided every convenience possible. The grounds are breath taking and of course, the entire staff exemplified the utter most of professionalizm. I would highly recommend the Banchory Lodge to anyone traveling through the highlands of Scotland. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
