Fairlight Lodge failed miserably to live up to its description of itself. We booked a family room with a private bathroom, the owners omitted to inform us that the bathroom was down the hallway and the 'family room' was nothing more than a double with two small beds squished into it, one of them being a very lumpy old fashioned z-bed. Nowhere to hang clothes as small cupboard blocked by chair, no handbasin, tea and coffee for two and a big wet stain on the carpet. After querying the wet carpet and complaining about the fact that we were uncomfortable going down the corridor to use the 'private' bathroom we were offered an apology and a small reduction on the room. Luckily it was only one night! I hope this might save some other family from being duped into paying for something that the owners are obviously aware of but have no intention of rectifying.
