All I can say is WOW ... we stayed at this campsite from Friday 22nd Aug till Sunday 24th Aug . We was greeted by a lovely lady who was not the owner but helping out as the owner or one of them was taken ill and was sadly in hospital . They told us where we had to go and gave us advice on which spots we shouldn't use . The grounds were really nice and set by a shallow babbling brook , there are 2 sides to the camp the first one you come to is for caravans with electric hook ups , and over the other side of the brook is a fairly large field that holds all the people with tents . We was told by the lady that we would be sharing the field with others and was told there would be 14 of us altogether there on Saturday ... I must say you could of fitted loads more onto the field as there was plenty of room . On the first side is where the toilets are . These were very clean , there was also a separate washing up room which had 2 sinks in for you to do all your washing up in ... this was really good except we forgot to pack anything to do the washing up with , there was some washing up liquid so that was handy . There is a tap for you to collect your drinking water from so no having to buy loads of bottled water . My partner said the showers were nice and hot and he hated getting out cos he knew he would be cold walkin back to the tent ha ha . We stayed here as it was nice and close to Longleat which I can only say .. if you have never been .. GO , it was great and my 2 kids aged 10 & 8 loved it . We found the campsite very reasonably priced at jus £9 per nite , unfortunately for us on the Saturday nite it absolutely poured down with rain but luckily our tent held out . If the weather was nice all weekend this would have been ideal , but knowin British weather you cant control it ha ha . We would most defiantly go back even though its over 100 miles from our home in Surrey . Thanks again for your warm hospitality . Tracy . Marc & Boys xxxx

Called in on the off chance that there may be a vacancy. We were lucky. You`ll be greeted by the lovely couple who run it ( mr & mrs James)who then go out of there way to make you feel welcome.we stayed only the one night with a small tent as we were only passing through.we were going to longleat the next day(which is only a ten minute drive away)Mrs James gave us a special voucher for the park which saved us £2 each on a passport ticket.(very thoughtful)the site is small and personal, with clean & fresh toilets & showers.plenty of space for children to play safely.£9 a night (a little steap for a small tent, but worth it)will definately go back, and stay longer next time.

I have visited seven acres with my husband and children for the past two years and will hopefully do so again this year. The shower block and toilets are always well maintained, the whole park is kept perfect. Mr & Mrs James are always around to answer any queries that may arise and are always polite, and happy. We visit this site because it is quiet, this comes in handy as i have a famous brother who works at Longleat, so when he comes to visit us, Mr & Mrs James are always descreet about it.I hope we have many more happy years at seven acres.

We stayed for 2 nights on our first camping trip. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. The toilet block was very clean with the use of a hair dryer. There is a separate bathroom which for couples is much easier. Our tent was pitched in a field over a bridge crossing a little stream, very private. Ideal for those visiting Longleat as it is only about 5-10 minutes by car. There was noise from the Deer during the night, but this was manly due to the Rutting season. An excellent camp site and we would recommend it to anybody.

As far as campsites go I can definately rate this one as one of the better ones that I have visited in a long time. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.Yes the site could do with another couple of toilets and showers but the ones provided are free of charge unlike most campsites that I have visited. The grounds are immaculate and everything you need is right on the doorstep from Asda to Sainsburys and KFC to McDonalds, all within a mile or so.We will definately be going back and it is worth the 150 mile trip to get there for us due to the central location to so many attractions.

We went camping for 8 nights and choose the site as it was central for everything that we wanted to visit. The tent field is over a small stream & is big enough. The owners did try hard to keep the toilet & shower block clean & were very friendly and knowledgable of the local area. The first part of our stay there were only a hand full of tents & caravans & so the 2 toilets & 2 showers were ample. However, as the weekend neared & the park became full we had to wait for toilet, shower & washing up facilities. The tenting field also became very busy with tents parking very close to each other - more a campers fault than the park owners! The site is near to a B road but the road is very noisy & busy during the day & the night. There is also a train line with running trains all day & night very near by. If you do decide to go I would take ear plugs with you.

This is an ideal site for exploring the attractive towns, villages and countryside of Somerset. The caravan area is well maintained, flat and pleasantly laid out, with trees providing shade, and more than adequate space for each unit. The spacious camping field is separated from the caravan area by a bridge over a stream, and tents are not crammed closely together as in some places. Yes, Seven Acres is near a fairly busy road and a train line but it all quietens down at night-time. From the moment we met the owners, Mr. & Mrs. James, we were made welcome. They are friendly and helpful, working hard all the time to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in and around the toilet/washing area. These facilities are not large but are geared to the relatively low number of people allowed on the site. There is no need for a shop here as it is only 5 minutes from Frome, with plenty of shopping for all. We would certainly go there again. John & Christine

I'd definitely go again. The field was nice and flat and we had plenty of room to ourselves. If you have a tent rather than a caravan then you will find that you are placed further away from the toilet block with a two to three minute walk. There was one shower room for guys and one for girls and so I wouldn't want to be at the site during holidays or busy periods. It cost me £8 for one nights stay in a small tent. I haven't done that much camping and so I can't really comment on the price. I would advise that campers take ear plugs as the site is on a straight bit of road which cars appear to scream down. There's a main train line not too far away as well.
