This is a beautiful place and the campsite matched it surroundings although this did include the local church which rings it bells every 15mins!! We are big fans of the tranquil touring parks but this park was not for us the tent field was based at the opposite end of the park to the shower block and shops and was next to the raised pathway leading to the local schools which looked down on us and they were noisy!! The field was very windy with not much coverage and the people from the caravan park walked their dogs in the tent field and allowed them to go to the toilet. The park is more for caravaners than campers but cheddar is a gorgeous village to stay in.

Stayed for two seperate weeks, brilliant
site well equiped for everything including local shops.Very helpfull/friendly, ideal place to tour from also easy to get to off motorway.
Going back agin this year, took our friends 2nd time and they loved it aswell ! cant wait to go back again this year.

Our fault we did not book but thought we would "try our luck" turned up at 12 noon in motor home with small trailer (disabled scooter) Apparently there was a sign saying no admitance until 1 but again our fault we did not see it! Very unwelcoming woman came out and wanted to know why we had come early we would have to wait in the late arrivals bay, when we explained we had not booked but just wondered if there were any spaces she got even more irrate and said no. Fair enough, we asked if she would let us drive around the site to get out but no it was our fault we had not read the sign and we could turn around in the late arrival area. My husband is VERY good at reversing but with a small trailer on the back which he could not see it was not easy. Of course with my help he did it but it would have been so much easier if she could have lifted the barrier just to let us drive through. We knew there may not have been any room, yes we could have phoned but on that 1 encounter there is no way we would go back there and be made to feel so unwelcome. Pity as it is meant to be the"Friendly Club"

Stayed at this site for 3 nights which should have been 4 but the constant rain got the better of my wife and I.
On the whole the site is pleasant and very well placed, being situated in the heart of the village of Cheddar.
However, on first arriving we were grateful to be placed in the 'tent only'field, as the first field appeared very busy and cramped with awnings and caravans only inches apart in some places.
Another point which I think is fair to mention is that the site owners tend to change the rules of the site to suit.
On our third night whist staying on the 'tent only' field - where dogs were forbidden - on this 'Adult Only' site we had a very large group of people arrive, all in camper vans, including their children (riding bikes around the field) and walking a dog!!
This group were very large (singing their French National Anthem before every meal) and one of these guests thought we would all like to be entertained with a saxophone! This made us question the guide book where it claimed Cheddar Bridge was a very peaceful site!
Only two showers (albeit very nice showers) in each of the ladies & gents toilet block was far from sufficient to accommodate the amount of guests and made the £19 per night fee for 1 tent & 2 adults quite extortionate.

This is an adults only site located within walking distance of a supermarket and the Cheddar attractions. The owner was very friendly and keeps a well maintained site. The toilets/showers and washing facilities were kept very clean all day. An excellent, peaceful site that we would definitely visit again.
