My family and I stayed at Tehidy for our annual 2 week holiday, camping. I found this site by chance, and when I read the reviews, thought this is just what we need - a nice quiet family run site. Although I have 2 young children, aged 5 & 6, we are not into the huge family parks. When we arrived, the park looked like it had lived upto it's promise. Unfortunately, it was not the peaceful setting I had thought - the local village road that runs along side the site seems to be the local cut through from village to village, with most drivers thinking they are the new Lewis Hamilton !! I cannot stress how loud a car is when you are a mere 10 feet away from the road and under canvas. With regards to the shower block this could do with a bit of updating along with some more facilities - there are only 3 toilets and 3 showers, so be prepared for a wait in high season. Whilst we are on the subject of the shower block, the cleaning of the shower block is between 12-1pm, and sometime in the morning and afternoon - well unless 9pm is afternoon in Cornwall, this is slightly wrong - and not just on one occasion. In the middle of our 1st week, a group of life guards and surfers arrived, who had booked seperately I was told (although I would be a bit suspicious of this myself). They did not leave until the following monday, and from start to finish were a royal pain. Sand in sinks, toilets and showers overflowing, to the point that one shower was out of order until after we left..... Noise every evening, and when asked to turn down were quite rude. The best time that we had at this site was probably the last 2 evenings, and even then the road did not stop...... To cap it all, you can safely say that this is one experience we will not be repeating. And can I just say, that my family and I are not 1st time campers, I have been camping with my family since I was about 8 years old, and my mum and dad accompanied us on this trip also. They also confirmed with me, that this is possibly our worst trip.
