This is the second time I have stayed at Harry's and was disappointed. The window of our room open directly onto a fire escape, not the most secure feature. It took 3 days for a bath mat to be put in our room and all of the towels were frayed at the edges. The bed squeaked every time you rolled over and generally the finish of the room was scruffy and poor. Dirty cups for the in room tea and coffee were not cleaned and replaced on a daily basis and in the bathroom a tiny piece of soap and shampoo was provided yet no shower gel? The shower screen the the bathroom was also showing its age and the whole bathroom decor was clearly a bodge job. Breakfast is of the greasy variety with a poor range of cereal and tinned fruit being available. The standard of breakfast is far below the standard of food served in the resteraunt and they would perhaps do better with a range of fresh breads, croissants, cheese and meats along with higher quality cereals. Fresh fruit juice would also be a plus as opposed to long life never seen an orange in its life cartons. I would have expected the hotel bar in somewhere selling itself on the quality of its food to look inviting and make guests want to drink there, it makes you run up the road searching for an alternative. In general its time Aber pulled its socks up and realised that guests want a good finish and professionally run place to stay as opposed to dilapidated sea side chic
