Lovely food, good service, excellent beer and very comfortable seating, an improvement on its previous reputation which wasnt very good.

The City Arms has a new landlady(A younger prettier Beth Lynch a la Coronation Street crossed with a bit of Tina Turner!) since the start of the year. This is a tremenduous boozer house, steeped in history(Former jailhouse for the city-the Landlady now shackles you if you misbehave!).The food is great and a choice of ales to die for!.Well worth a visit. One of my favourites. As Tina Turner says "Simply the Best".

Bloody awful. Bad food, bad service, bad ambience, filthy tables. Tragic - this pub used to be good. In a word - don't. joy
