We wish to say a huge thank you to the Manager and staff of the Kingsdon Inn for the brilliant day they gave us on the 23rd May. Everyone said it was one of the best wedding receptions they've been to and so much of it was down to all that the staff did for us.
Once again, many thanks for an unforgettable day.

I chose to hold my 65th birthday luncheon party at the Kingsdon Inn for 11 family and friends because of the warm friendly atmosphere I had experienced on previous visit and because of all the many extremely positive recomendations from so many people in Somerset and indeed from further a field.
On arrival my table had been decorated for the occasion, this done by the manager and his very efficient and welcoming staff, who despite having all tables full, really looked after my party.
The extensive menu had something to offer for all tastes at a sensible price, accompanied by a good range of beers,lagers and wines.
Our meal lived up to the Kingsdon Inn's very high reputation, much to the delight of all my party who I know will all be back to sample the delights of this marvellous Somerset establishment in the not too diistant future.

Many thanks indeed for excellent organisation in dealing with our party of 25 on Saturday.
The meals were first class and very much enjoyed by all of us. Please thank the girls waiting on tables, they were very attentive and gave us wonderful service with a smile.

Tried to book for our party of four for Sunday lunch night before but were rather grumpily told "no need to book - we'll fit you in".
Was somewhat intimidated by two unfriendly blokes smoking outside and blocking the side door. We later found them out to be the landlord and his best pal. Didn't bother to welcome us or show us the way in. A landlord that doesn't like customers - not a good start.
On arriving there was a lovely table for four close to the fire with "reserved" on it. Assuming they had relented and booked it for us, we moved towards it and were asked "had we booked "? When we said we had tried to book but weren't allowed to, the excuse given was that “we only book for parties of 6 or over". Quite how the lovely table by the fire had been reserved for four was a mystery then! In other words, you can book if you are a pal of the grumpy landlord but not otherwise. We got sent to the "back kitchen" to sit down. Cramped and unappealing.
Limited menu of roasts and salads on a Sunday, the roast beef was tough and the leek, walnut and stilton pie a bit warmed up and micro waved. Better luck with the deserts, in particular a nice apricot and almond tart.
Waitresses working hard to compensate for the incommunicative landlord. Good beer and cider selection including Ashton's cloudy, but average house wine.
Pub was packed, but we didn't feel welcome and shot away soon as we could £58 the poorer. Only thing that made the landlord smile was taking the money. If you haven't been there before, you will probably feel as unwelcome as we did. Won't be back.
