Disappointed by the food standards in the past when we discovered the Highlander was under new managment we decided to give it a try. What a difference! The staff were very friendly, attentive but not 'in your face' the food was exceptional, presented really well and really good portions. In addition the place has had a welcome lick of paint and other additional discreet changes, all making a very enjoyable experience. Well done to the new management team - keep up the good work.

First time we've been to the Highlander in ages, & what a very pleasant experience it was! This lovely, traditional pub is now under new management, & the new people certainly know what they're doing. The atmosphere was warm & welcoming, & the food was beautifully presented & tasted wonderful. I had the salmon, & it was succulent & cooked to perfection, with a lovely crab & king prawn sauce, crunchy, freshly cooked veg, & home-made chips to die for! My husband was equally impressed with his pork chop, served with blackpudding & caramelised apple - we will certainly be going back again, & again, & again!

We noticed The Highlander was under new managment with a new head chef, we thought we would give it a go. Wow! it was fantastic, they have started to decorate and the food was out of this world. I had Tornedo of pork, the presentation was fantastic, my husband had the Highlander fish pie, he moped up every bit. Good luck keep up the good work.
