So glad we have discovered this lovely gastro pub. Great for couples or small groups. Food is excellent,and beautifully presented. Relaxed informal surroundings and waitresses are polite and attentive.

TOOK THE WIFE OUT LAST NITE TO THE NAGS HEAD INN WITH 2 FRIENDS AND HEARD SOMEONE COMPLAINING ABOUT THERE STEAK HAD NOT BEEN PRESENTED PROPERLY AND THEY WERE GIVEN TO MANY ONION RINGS WITH THERE STEAK.
AT £19.95 FOR A LOCALLY REARED STEAK PERSONALLY I THINK IS GREAT (MINE CERTAINLY WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION)THE PERSON COMPLAINING SAID THEY PAID £9.95 FOR THERE FILLET STEAK AT ANOTHER LOCAL(PUB)WHICH WAS BETTER PRESENTED.PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW YOU PRESENT A PEICE OF 8OZ FILLET ON A PLATE AS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.AS A 20 YEAR QUALIFIED CHEF MYSELF ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT YOUR 9.95 STEAK HAS FLOWN MORE MILES THAN I HAVE AND COLLECTED NO AIR MILES SOME PEOPLE HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE .PLEASE KEEP PRODUCING NICE QUALITY FOOD NAGS HEAD FOR US PEOPLE WHO KNOW.

Just visited the nags head.very nice food.place was fantastic. staff were very pleasant not really busy (about 20 people) but it's January & everyone is skint. but keep it up nags head.see you soon.

whilst on holiday from australia we called into the nags head one evening for a meal. what a pleasant suprise we returned for three nights running to eat.The food was devine, the staff friendly and efficient, but most of all the food was worth the effort. we would recomend anybody to make the effort and visit

Called in to the nags head for Saturday dinner (pm),Recomended by the guest house we were staying at.What a treat we had they were very busy but found me a table in the restaurant (had to wait 15 mins for the table but we were not booked but hey they were busy)The food was piping hot,looked great,tasted great,Price was worth what we had,cant put a price on the quality of food we had.Thank you very much nags head.To all these people who have left negative feed back on NOT ENOUGH VEGETABLES & Have taken the time to sit and write comments did you not think to ASK the staff for more VEGETABLES how sad are you.KEEP IT UP NAGS HEAD.

Called here for Sunday lunch on spec. Asked if we had booked (as if they were mega busy and could JUST squeeze us in). Plenty of empty tables but stil, waited 35+ minutes for meal. Roast beef lunch looked ok but I had field mushroom stuffed with courgettes and mozerella. £7.95 for ONE mushroom and about 5 small new potatoes chopped up. The veg (carrots, cauliflower and brocolli) was barely enough for one. Service was slow and slovenly. The next table ordered more potatoes but they had finished their meal by the time they arrived! A scandalous rip off! Would definitely NOT recommend this place.

Mu husband and i went with a friend and were very dissapointed. The place was only half full and yet we waited 30 minutes for our starters. Food is distinctly average, service was poor and the general experience was of a low standard. We eat out regularly and would certainly not bother with this place again.

The Nags Head is a tiny idylic English country pub. It is quaint, clean and friendly.
I visited on Boxing Day 2008 and had such a fantastic meal that I decided to book a table of 8 for Mothering Sunday.
The food prices are not cheap, but they are not overly expensive either.
However, on visiting on Mothering Sunday, when having received our main roast dinner, I was appalled at the size of the portion of potatoes and vegtables. We all had 2 halves of potatoes each and a small dish of veg between 4 of us.
My children of 7 and 8 didn't even have enough with this amount.
I asked for some more potatoes, and got charged for more.
I know we are in the middle of a 'credit crunch' but I won't be going back until they increase the veg supply!
I did complain and the girl said she would pass my comments on.
By the way, incase you think I am greedy, I'm not, I am a size 10 dress size.

the nags head serves great food and the staff were very good to us from walking in to us leaving everthing was great..fresh food and great menu choices

We were staying in Castle Donnington for one night and using it as a stop off point for the night before travelling further up country. Popped into the pub by off chance without any knowledge or booking....Had an excellent meal at a reasonable price with very good and friendly service...The Leicestershire sausages with Stilton and the mustard mash was heavenly and a very good cheese board to follow.

We had booked an early evening meal although the resturant was almost empty our table was not ready,we made our choice from the menu only to be told it wasn't available. The staff were nice but the service could have been better. The lamb and cous cous is served with boiled cabbage,cauliflower and carrots.

Have just visited The Nags for a meal to celebrate a 60th Birthday. We were a party of 12 and all had excellant food, there was plenty of choice on the menu and the staff were very obliging catering for the younger members of our party. The service was absolutly fantastic throughout we'll deffinately going back........soon. Keep up the good work it's appreciated.

I have eaten lunch here before wich was fine.Today however the portions were much smaller the vegeterian option so burnt they refunded the cost and gave a free desert which took 40 mins to arrive. Maybe it was just an off day but as todays meal for a group of us was our gift it was disapointing and will not be repeated.

Four of us ended up at the Nags Head, by chance, on a Sunday evening. We had the restaurant to ourselves as most of the business had been for Sunday lunches. Even though we were late arrivals, the food and service was exceptional. Just by chance we ate in three pubs, three days in a row. I can honestly say that the Nags Head was by far the best food and best value for money. We will back soon.

Although not busy on this occasion and new to the area I chose to have Sunday lunch here. As a food technology teacher I know what to expect and I have to say I was most impressed with the service, food and presentation. The menu is nicely balanced and not overly priced and after paying for two courses it was well worth it. The food was great, vegetables cooked perfectly and fresh (no tinned or frozen here!) The lamb was excellent and plenty of it, the whole meal was excellent and I will definately visit again.
Surroundings clean and pleasant, cutlery clean and also its a no smoking pub!! even better. Well done guys.
