We visited the Inn on a Monday night to sample their Grill night offer which included a choice of 3 main courses and a glass of wine for £10.95. the welcome was warm and friendly, however their were six of us dining and none of us were asked which type of wine we wanted with our food. Five out of six of us had the steak which for the most part came in 2 pieces(really odd as I always thought an 8 oz Rump steak came as one piece!) very few chips, although they were good. We ordered 2 cheeseboards and 2 desserts, the desserts were £5.50 and when we asked if we cold have an extra scoopof ice cream to go with the custard we were told we would be charged extra, what a cheek when 6 of us had just spent an evening there with food and wine! The cheese board was poor to be honest and the pieces of cheese needed a magnifying glass to be spotted. Portion size needs to be increased by 25%. Will try another next time.

We visited the Colesbourne Arms today for lunch on our way to Cheltenham, with our 85 year old mother. The welcome, by the smiling helpful barman, was superb he quickly found us a table in the sun by the window. The menu was really extensive, presenting us with the dreadful dilemma of selecting just one meal each!! The tempura of plaice and chips was quite spectacular, keeping mum quiet for the entire meal. The Caesar salad, quite the best I have eaten, was presented majestically. Coffee and brownies finished the meal brilliantly. It's no wonder that the reviews are stunning - quite justified too. This will not be our only visit!!
