We booked a short break to stay at the Horse and Farrier as we had never visited the area before and were impressed by the website. We stayed in one of the rooms which were clean and ideal for what we wanted, we were left a chocolate each at the end of the bed which was a nice touch. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the food was excellent, and I would recommend it to anybody visiting Keswick or surrounding areas.

I booked the Horse and Farrier over the internet for an suprise weekend away for myself and my wife, we have never been to the lake district before and friends had advised us that Keswick would make an good starting point. As we were looking for a small but well appointed place just outside Keswick to stay so i chose the H&F mainly due to its excellant web site with virtual tours, which are a fair example of whats on offer.Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff (John i think) and he showed us up to our room no8.The only slight dampener for us was there was no bath in our room and the shower area was in need of attention, having said that a very clear sign on the bathroon door said just the following week the bathrooms were to be upgraded.I dont want to sound picky but the bed mattres was two singles bolted together not the most romantic but plenty of room. The food well if i was to say fantastic would be a large injustace it was simple devine, it tastes as good as it looks and that is just as you see it on the web site overall a very good experiance and one i hope to repeat for years to come. Thankyou to all the staff at the horse and farrier for making our stay wonderful....

We stayed for 3 nights inc new years eve. We booked the previous february and were lucky to get a small twin room with en-suite, a little cramped for the two of us and our 2 large dogs (yes dogs are very welcome)but we loved it. The friendly service was second to none. The food and drink excellent, we had a wonderful time. Many thanks to all at The Horse & Farrier, we will be back again. ps and thanks for posting to us the valuable item we left behind.
